If you are looking for the best baking gifts for kids, you are in the right place!
For as long as I can remember, my daughter has been in the kitchen with me – observing, asking questions, and taking the whisk right out of my hand.
But within the past year, her love of baking has really come alive.
She is always asking, “Mom, can I make something?,” and by ‘make’, I know she means ‘bake‘.
There is no doubt, baking is her preferred activity every day of the week (unless Cupcake Wars is on t.v.).
I have some of the same memories with my mom. I loved being in the kitchen – watching, smelling, tasting.
The house would be filled with the sweet and savory aroma of blackberry cobbler, and I couldn’t wait for that oven timer to go off!
I would be almost as anxious as I was waiting on Christmas morning.
But, no matter how impatient I would get, Mom would never run me out of the kitchen.
Whether or not you have memories of being in the kitchen at a young age, it’s definitely not too late to have them with your own children.
I’ve decided that I want to make the most out of our time in the kitchen, and I want my girl to explore her love of baking as far as she wants to take it.
I figure there’s no better way to get her started than with some awesome cooking gifts for kids.
So as we near Christmas, and I scour the internet for baking gifts for tweens and gifts for kid chefs, I have found some of the best baking gifts.

68-Piece Silicone Bakeware Set
This silicone bakeware set is the perfect baking pan set. The easy clean-up alone is enough to make me choose this option. The flexibility of the silicone makes it easy to manipulate and get all those leftover crumbs, and there are so many different sizes of pans.
73 Piece Cake Decorating Kit
This 73-pc decorating kit will keep her discovering new designs for months. It’s got everything a beginning baker needs to make her dish a masterpiece. No matter what dish, (cakes, cupcakes, donuts or cookies) this set has got you covered.
Kids Baking Gift Set with Storage Case
I love this set because it comes with everything you need to get started baking. It even has a case to keep things tidied up and in place. And my favorite part – it’s all dishwasher safe!
Baking – An American Girl Cookbook
This cookbook has so many rave reviews. American Girl teamed up with William-Sonoma on this cookbook for young bakers, and its easy-to-follow recipes have even the adults loving it.
Kid Chef Bakes: The Kids Cookbook for Aspiring Bakers
Another great cookbook for young bakers, Kid Chef Bakes teaches novice bakers the basics of pastries. Not only does it have great recipes, it offers tips and suggestions for the beginning baker, such as recommended cooking utensils and recipe staples.
Personalized Cooking Apron
Every aspiring chef needs her own apron, and a personalized cooking apron is sure to make her feel like a pro. It will also help save her clothes from becoming soiled with egg whites, so it’s a win-win kinda gift. Purchase this white set and have it monogrammed!
Stand Mixer
Every baker needs a stand mixer, and this one is just the right fit for your beginning baker. It’s shiny, made of stainless steel, reasonably priced and has rave reviews! Your little girl will feel like a real baker when using a cute stand mixer like this one.
Baking Classes
This is probably my favorite idea of the baking gifts for kid chefs.
To find classes or baking camps in your area, check with your local schools or colleges. We live near a university that offers summer camp. If you can’t find anything local (or just don’t have the time), you should try a virtual cooking class.
I have heard nothing but great things about Katie Kimbrell’s Kids Cook Real Food virtual classes.
She has created a comprehensive course that teaches kids of all ages, and it comes with 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced. It’s all kid-friendly – the food and the courses, and you can work through the video lessons at your own pace.
You can get her free eBook “10 Healthy Snacks Kids Can Make” HERE, or sample the course for free HERE.
DIY Baking Essentials Basket
This DIY baking essentials basket from SouthernLiving.com is the cutest! This is a gift any baker would love to receive. Include staples, such as flour, sugar, salt, flavorings, and some fun add-ins like sprinkles, chocolate chips and food coloring. This one is sure to keep you on budget.
I hope you enjoyed the list of cooking gifts for kids and found something that will put the biggest smile on your little girl’s face!
