Wondering what to do when you have no food to make in the house? When there’s no food at home, these yummy “no food in the house” recipes will get you by ’til your next shopping trip.

I know, I know. How can you cook recipes when you have no food?

The thing is, most everyone has something sitting in their pantry or fridge. Unless, of course, you just moved in.

The point of this post is to give you ideas of what to do with the food you do have, even if it is sparse.

Typically, I meal plan and complete all my grocery shopping for the week on Sunday. However, there have been weekends (especially during baseball season) where we have so much to do and not enough time to do it.

Then, grocery shopping gets pushed to the bottom of the list, and I end up running to the grocery store every evening after getting off work.

After doing this til mid-week, the grocery store becomes a dreaded task, and I end up skipping the grocery store and heading straight home.

The problem with this – there’s no food at home! (Or, at least that’s how it seems.)

Even if I haven’t been to the grocery store in over a week, I always tend to have something in the pantry. And I’m sure you’ve got some basic pantry staples tucked in those cupboards, too.

Whether you are trying to survive a no spend week, are too tired to grocery shop or just plain broke, you can find something good to cook with the ingredients you have laying around.

No food in the house seems a little extreme, doesn’t it? Unless, of course, you just moved in.

It feels like there is absolutely nothing to eat.

However, if you have some basic fridge and pantry staples, you can whip up some tasty dishes in no time.
